When you’re looking to work as a librarian, you can major in just about anything during your college years. Should you want to work as a law librarian, though, your studies will have to be a little more specific. You’re going to need to go to law school, earn your degree, and then pass the Bar exam. You can use the Internet to find out where testing is offered. You’ll have to make sure that you’ve gotten your degree first, though. When you’ve completed your undergraduate studies and passed the Bar exam, you’re going to need to get your Master’s in Library Sciences, or your MLS. Once you’ve earned this, you’re all set! Post your resume online and start looking for work at a place that will truly interest you. You might have a great law degree and USC’s library science degree but you’re still going to need to hunt around for some employment. Look for work that you think you’ll seriously enjoy so that you can get your new career off to a great start. When you work as a law librarian, you get to deal with a lot of research, organization, and complicated legal matters. If these are things that you enjoy, though, you’re going to really love your new career.
